Soa ‘The Hulk’ Palalei is making his intentions known that he wants the CFC Heavyweight title and will fight Shunsuke Inoue from Japan at CFC 20 at the Southport Sharks on the Gold Coast-March 24, 2012. Pancrase and Deep FC veteran Inoue is from Yoshida Dojo academy based out of Chiba, Japan. Hector Lombard is a former fighter from the Yoshida academy.
Palalei is on a 4 fight winning streak after 4 straight first round knockout wins, with the latest being against Henry Miller at K-Oz Entertainment’s-Bragging Rights in January. Palalei was also on the latest CFC show, CFC 19 in Sydney at the end of 2011 where he knocked out Matt Walker in 16 seconds.
‘The Hulk’ has plans to spar with some of the best strikers in the world over the next coming months including Alistair Overeem as he prepares for his UFC title fight with Junior Dos Santos. The plan is to improve the standup game of Palalei so he is 100% ready when the UFC give him another contract.
Shunsuke Inoue is on a 2 fight winning streak with 2 first round knockouts and in his last fight he took on Palalei’s previous opponent Henry Miller in December, 2011 at Heat 20. Inoue’s record sits at 12 wins, 6 losses, 2 draws and will be significantly disadvantaged in both height and weight sitting at 99kg and 175cm while Palalei weights 120kg and is 193cm.
